The term
Business Rules is a generic
name used when discussing any of the following rules. Refer
to the Business Rules section of this help system for details on each
of these types of rules.
Attached Rules:
These rules are attached to transactions
and provide the transaction with additional processing options.
Calculate Rules:
These rules perform policy calculations.
CopyBook Rules:
These rules store reusable configuration
that can be used in other rules and across all configured plans.
Function Rules:
These rules are reusable calculations that
can be used across products.
Plan Rules: These
rules are required in order to have a new plan.
Screen Rules: These
rules are associated with screens that are available in the application.
System Rules: These
rules control system processing.
Transaction
Rules are configured to be business events that end users (most
likely Customer Service Representatives) need to process when an event
occurs that affects a policy. Transactions become activities in OIPA.
Segment Rules contain information about the base policy as well as additional riders or features of the policy. Segment rules are used to configure segments for each plan.
